Funded BD2K trainees (only 6 per year) are supported for at least 1 year and in special cases 2 or 3 years, including a stipend of $23,844, health insurance, and 60% of tuition and fees (the remainder of tuition is expected to be covered from other sources). Funded trainees are required to participate in program activities and commit to satisfying the BD2K Certificate requirements prior to graduation. The call for funded traineeships will typically go out early in the Spring.

Funding is somewhat of a diversion: we seek a huge multiplier effect, with graduate trainees from across campus participating independent of their funding source. Currently there are ~ 35 participating trainees.
